Rebel Retreat - July 10th to 13th
After three years of traditional ‘Summer Camps’, the Council decided to shake up the Rebel Calendar, and asked for a Retreat instead. So we have found a beautiful, glam wedding venue, which we have exclusive hire of for 3 nights and 2 days. We will be at Stanford Farm in Shrewsbury from the evening of Friday July 10th to the morning of Monday July 13th (with the option to leave on Sunday afternoon or evening).
I recently posted a series of pictures of the beautiful site onto the main Facebook group - it includes two refurbished barns for day and night time activities, a huge teepee, and various huts across the site where you will be able to play games and do crafts in small groups. You can also check out their website here.
Accommodation Options
You can bring your own tent, included in standard tickets, or we have pre-pitched Glamping Tents, if you’d like to stay on site but don’t have a tent, or would prefer someone else does the hard work putting it up and taking it down.
While all the onsite indoor accommodation has sold out, the venue does have a list of partner hotels and local airbnbs If you’d rather not camp and would prefer to just come to the site for the activities each day.
Activities
There are two full days of activities included in your ticket - everything from crafts, to yoga and meditation, to dance classes, to games, murder mysteries, crime cases, puzzles, board games and apothecary recipes. However unlike Camp, where you get assigned to Patrols, and given a fixed program, all the activities will be on a drop-in basis, running all weekend - so you can choose what you want to do, and when. If you want to just chill in the sunshine and chat to new friends, that’s completely up to you!
In the evenings, we will have our standard Rebel entertainment. Everything from silent disco and karaoke, to Bingo, a Pub Quiz, and Outdoor Movies.
We are excited to announce that the Friday night will kick off with a Rebel first - a Silent Disco in the beautiful Woodland on the farm.
If you need to return to work on the Monday, you can leave any time on Sunday, or there’s the option to stay over on Sunday night and leave on Monday morning. Unlike Camp, there are no activities on the Monday.
You’re welcome to bring partners, friends and family - you don’t have to be a ‘badge book Rebel’ to attend - you just need to be over 18. Carers and PAs attend for free if they are not doing any of the activities, and are just there to assist you.
Food and Drink
The event is predominantly self-catered, however there is the option for food vans in the evenings - we are chatting to a local Pizza van and a Greek food vendor, as well as a coffee and breakfast cart in the mornings.
You can bring your own alcohol to the site, but there are also licensed bars on site available every evening.
All indoor accommodation has access to full kitchens and fridges. Campers will have access to an indoor washing up area, medicine fridge, and freezer for refreezing cool box blocks.
